Case Study: Leadership Development Training Modules for Change

A national distance learning provider for healthcare professionals needed to rewrite their syllabus to go live in September 2024.

They required four leadership development training modules (each with 15 hours of guided learning) covering a range of areas.

Leadership Modules for Implementing Change

My client is a national educational provider, offering postgraduate, CPD, technical and behavioural courses for healthcare professionals.

The organisation needed leadership modules that covered the following topics:

  • Getting ready for change and creating a shared vision
  • Leading and implementing change
  • Impactful communications
  • Sustaining change

The Challenges: Connecting Existing Models to NHS Leadership

One of the biggest challenges was getting into the mind of leadership within the context of the NHS. I had to gain a deep understanding to enable me to relate the work to existing models and protocols, whilst introducing new thinking and stimulus.

The Solution: Theory, Practical Exercises and Mixed Media

I delivered four modules with 15 hours of content each. The development modules contained theory, practical exercises, mixed media, and further reading. This ensured the learners received an interesting and engaging set of training materials, which is currently going live.

“Thanks again for this, Rupert. It all looks great. There are a lot of big ideas crammed into this unit, for topics like ‘effective communication’, which are so massive that really an entire course would be dedicated to them, I think you’ve done a good job at distilling key pieces of information and signposting to further resources… very comprehensive and contains all the key material that I was expecting, with additional helpful resources!”
